Simone Poirier Hebert Cupp, of Key Colony Beach, FL, passed away May 15, 2015 after a long and courageous fight from a very debilitating disease. She was born June 15, 1937. She grew up in Pawtucket, RI and moved to Miami with her husband Ray, the father of her three children in 1957. When Ray died in 1967 she raised her three children by herself as well as went to college to get her teaching degree. She went on to teach at Apollo Middle School and Miramar High School in Broward County for over 20 years. She also worked at the county office and was a long standing member of Math organizations in the state of Florida as well as a mentor to young teachers. She lived in Hollywood for 42 years before moving to Loxahatchee, FL after retiring, where she volunteered at the Chamber of Commerce and the friends of the library. In 2012 she became a full time resident of Key Colony Beach, FL to be closer to her daughter. She is survived by her children Marie (Steve) Flood and son Vincent Hebert, grandchildren Steven Jr. and Therese Flood, Tucker and Tyler Hebert, sister, Jacqueline Mongeau and brother, Lawrence Poirier and three stepsons, Terry (MaryBeth), Steve (Sandy) and Bradley Cupp. She was predeceased by husbands Raymond Hebert and Thomas Cupp, son Charles "Ray"mond Hebert and mother Therese and father Lawrence Poirier. She was a remarkable woman and will be missed by all whose lives she touched. A funeral mass will be held at San Pablo Catholic Church in Marathon, FL on June 29th at 11:00AM and Burial will be on Tuesday, June 30th at 11:00AM at the South Florida National Cemetery, Lane 5, in Lake Worth, FL.
