Stanley R. Kotarski, born in Schenectady, NY, passed away September 4, 2014 at the age of 92 in Naples, FL. Stan married his high school sweetheart Mary Jane (Ercole) in 1942. They enjoyed a loving marriage of 71 years. Mary Jane passed away in November of 2013. Stan served in World War II in the Navy on the battleship USS Iowa in the Pacific. After the war, Stan had successful careers with the 3M company in Schenectady and the Federal Government in Albany, NY. In 1987, Stan and Mary Jane retired to live in Lantana, FL in the Palm Breeze Club Community. For 26 years, they enjoyed life with friends on fun trips, golfing, club house parties and Stan his "Poker nights." Stan mostly enjoyed when family would come and visit. Especially his six grandchildren, David Pawl, Kristin Pawl, Todd Daigneault, Denise (Daigneault) Levin, Steven Daigenault and Kathleen (Daigneault) Granger, along with eight great-grandchildren. In 2013, Stan and Mary Jane moved into assisted living in Naples to be near their daughter Diane (Pawl) and son-in-law Dave. He is pre-deceased by his wife Mary Jane, daughter Cheryl (Daigneault) and son-in-law Denny. A military funeral will be held at a later date at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL, at which time Mary Jane will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Stan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Projects, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 or online at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
