TRACY ANN MARTIN 25. It is with the heaviest of hearts but wonderful memories that Michael Band and Nancy Driscoll Martin and cherished sister Emily inform you that our most beautiful and beloved daughter Tracy Ann Martin entered the gates of heaven on Saturday, March 15 in Jupiter, FL. Tracy was born on September 2, 1982 in Hartford, CT. Although she came into this life at 5 Ibs 4oz, she taught us that great things come in small packages. She attended Charter Oak, Sedgwick & Conard High School, graduating in 2001. She was a determined student and excellent athlete, being most proud as a member and captain of her swim team. She graduated from Johnson & Wales in Providence, RI, having transferred from URI. She fondly remembers her sisters at LLL. She worked at the Sheraton in East Hartford, CT, before moving to Jupiter to be an event planner at the Hilton Hotel on Singer Island. Most recently, she worked at the Homewood Suites, Palm Beach Gardens, FL. She was a HUGE Red Sox fan and loved the Patriots. She loved animals and was inseparable from her cat Hedy. Tracy was the first grandchild for her maternal grandparents Nancy (Pierce) Driscoll and the late Walter Driscoll of West Hartford, CT, as well as for her paternal grandparents Harold and Madeline Martin of East Hartford, CT. She also leaves her uncle Scott Driscoll of Jupiter, FL, with whom she lived, as well as her other uncles and aunts: Thomas and Patricia Driscoll of West Hartford, CT; Gregory and Mary Driscoll of Farmington, CT; Judy Martin and Tom Bell of St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles; Stephen and Patricia Martin of Redding, CT; Robert Martin of Middletown, CT; David and Leslie Martin and Daniel and Mary Ellen Martin, both of Wethersfield, CT; Carol and Ron Jacques of Glastonbury, CT; and Denise and Darren Parent of Sturbridge, MA. She also leaves numerous cousins who will miss her sorely and whom she dearly loved as well as many dear friends. It was hard not to be won over by her radiant smile. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 20 at 9:15 am from the Farley Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 467 So, Quaker La, West Hartford, CT. Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, March 19, from 4 -8PM at Farley Sullivan Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tracy's memory to one of her favorite charities, Save the Manatee Club, 500 N. Maitland Avenue, Maitland, FL 32751. I love you all so much, it saddens me that tracy had to leave us. She was one of the best cousins anyone could ask for. I remember all the great times we all had.I remember tracy and emily were the ones that i did alot of things for the first time with. In her last e-mail, Tracy described her emotions towards the death of a friend,
"I just pray that he knew how much I loved him. It is hard knowing that I will never see his smile or hear his wonderful laugh again but I'm staying strong and keeping busy..... life is so beautiful and I have such a greater appreciation for it now. My new rule is to live with postive energy and keep all the negative out from now on.... life is just way WAY to short."
I can take comfort in Tracy's words and attempt to mimic her philosophy when dealing with this loss.

The outpour of love and tears from Tracy's entrance into heaven is such a testament to the love she brought to this world. Her joyous character and giving heart speaks volumns of her loving family and friends. She truly was and is a light that will always shine. As she brightened the hearts of those her life touched here on earth, so shall she be a guiding light on their journey forward and into heaven someday.
Nancy, you had asked me if the pain ever gets lighter. We can only tell you that the magnitude of the pain changes. We are so sorry for your loss. I have so many fond memories of Tracy. I enjoyed taking photos of her and Em at the Knights of Columbus. They always did such a great job. I'll never forget the time I took a breather from my wedding reception and sat outside with Em and Tracy to reminisce. The videographer filmed us. I'll cherish that time with her forever. She was such a beautiful and happy person.

From 4th grade until we graduated, I never didn't see a smile on Tracy's face, or a kind word from her mouth. I always had fun during 11th grade Spanish class because we would always be partners and that would make the class that much better.

My friend was able to experience her warmth and smiles when checking in down in Palm Beach and said this "smiley great girl" helped her get comfortable with the idea of staying in a hotel for a couple weeks during her relocation.
