FAIRBURY - Everett Meister, 82, of Fairbury, passed away at 2:44 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
His funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Fairbury. Cremation will be accorded following the service with burial at a later date in Avoca Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 19, 2024, also at the First Baptist Church, Fairbury and 10:00 - 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday.
Memorials may be made to American Baptist Men Disaster Relief, CO Jonathan Ellison, 5000 N. Endres Ave, Peoria, IL, 61614, Shriners Hospital, Chicago, or Futures Unlimited, Pontiac.
Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury, is in charge of arrangements.
Everett was born July 9, 1942, in Fairbury, the son of Edward and Pearl (Friedman) Meister. He married Kathy Simpson on March 5, 1967, in Fairbury. She survives.
Also surviving are his three children, eight grandchildren, 11 brothers, and four sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Martha Meister; and sister-in-law, Margaret Meister.
Everett was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War.
