W.L. Case Obituary

W.L. (Bill) Case

December 9, 1930 - October 13, 2024

W.L. (Bill) Case, 93, passed away peacefully in his Green Valley, AZ residence, surrounded by family. As he used to like to say, cause of death, "TMB's" - "too many birthdays!"

Bill was born in Webster, IA, to Russell D. and Ruth Lucille (Hervey) Case. He was married to Barbara A. (Graham) Case, in 1953, and they shared a wonderful full life for 71 years.

Bill worked for State Farm Insurance for more than 25 years, retiring from the Corporate office in Bloomington, IL. They lived in Bloomington for 34 years where they attended First Presbyterian Church, volunteered at St. Joseph's Hospital and through it all, cultivated many close, long lasting friendships and many fond memories.

In 2000, Bill and Barb found "paradise" and moved to Green Valley, AZ. , and became members of the Valley Presbyterian Church. Over the past 24 years, they have formed many close bonds with friends and neighbors in the community.

Bill loved God, loved people and loved animals. He was a man of service and believed that you could make anyone's day better by sharing a smile or kind word. He was generous, always provided a listening ear and loved sharing music, food and fellowship.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jerry Walker - all of Green Valley ; Granddaughter and great granddaughter, Sara Walker and Lily Gillespie of Murfreesboro, TN; Grandson, Geoff Walker (Tricia) and great grandchildren Isaac, Zach and Natalie in Bloomington, IL; Sister and brother-in-law Shirley (Case) and John Graham, Nephew John (Jada) Graham; Niece Kathy (Tim) Casperson; Niece Karen (Bruce) McCommis all of Iowa; and Niece Susan (Karl) Young of Colorado; in addition to many great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Animal League of Green Valley or Youth on Their Own (YOTO) in Tucson.

Bill was a wonderful person who truly followed the teachings of Christ. Although he will be missed from this Earth, we are better for having known him while he was with us.

Oh, gosh, Barb, I think of you and Bill and the Henseys every now and then. Though we have lost touch over the years, my memories of our long-ago trips together to Italy and Ireland are so dear to me. I am so sorry Bill has passed. I wish you and your family peace and love in the days ahead.
