Alexander Rivera Obituary
Alexander Rivera passed away at the age of 51, February 25, 2014, and was born on October 19, 1962 in Lubbock to John and Sarah Rivera. He was raised in El Paso, where he graduated from Anderss High School in 1981. He then attended Texas Tech University, before graduating from the University of Houston with his Bachelor's Degree in History. Alexander worked as an exterminator for many years. He had a great sense of humor and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
He is survived by his daughter, Shauna McClain of Deer Park; son, John Alexander Rivera of Allentown, PA; 2 grandchildren Aidan and Addison McClain; mother, Sarah Jane Rivera; brother, Richard Rivera and wife Marisela Gonzales of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Annette Tah and husband Henry of Avondale, AZ and Felisha DeLaCruz and husband Dennis of Albuquerque, NM and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, John Rivera.
Funeral Services were held, 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 28, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lubbock with Msgr. David Cruz officiating.

To the Rivera family. Our family is sorry for your loss. It is hard to go through this difficult time, but it's good to know that we keep in our heart all the good moments, love, and care that we share with our loved ones. Romans 8:38, 39 says that nothing …. not even death is be able to separate us from God's love.

You were more than just a friend.....you were my confidant, my shoulder to cry on, my voice of reason.....MY POCKET FULL OF SUNSHINE!!!!
You were ALWAYS there when I needed you. You made me smile when I was sad and could always make me see the right path to take. You made the bad times seem not so bad and the good times even better. I am truly blessed for having known you. I will miss you and that big smile and great big heart. Keep a watch over me and the girls and continue to guide us. We love you Alex!!!

Alex,you were such a sweet guy and I truly enjoyed getting to know you when I was at Dollar Tree. I remember your music selection at work and the smile you always had for everyone. Rest peacefully, my prayers are with your family and loved ones.

Brother Alex, you were a good friend and brother during our time at Texas Tech and Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. You had a great sense of humor and your laughter was contagious. You made the world a better place, and will be missed greatly.
