Dr. Alfred "Ross" Webster, 73, of Friendswood, Texas, passed away Friday, January 31, 2014, at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas.
He was born March 5, 1940, in Prince Edward Island, Canada to Alfie and Fannie Webster. Ross met the love of his life, Barbara, in the early 1960's while both attended Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. They married on June 6, 1964 in Victoria, British Columbia. Ross received his medical degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1967 and completed his residency in General Surgery at Royal Victoria General Hospital, Montreal. In 1978, Ross moved his family from Canada to Texas and started practicing at Bayshore Medical Center, where he continued to practice until just a few weeks ago. Ross loved his family very much and thoroughly enjoyed family time. He was an incredibly intelligent man who enjoyed tinkering. He put some of his very own inventions to use in his home. He was an avid car enthusiast and had acquired quite the classic car collection. In addition to automobiles, Ross, had a zeal for model airplanes and trains. He had a wonderful sense of humor; loving to play pranks and making us laugh often.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Scott Webster, his parents, Alfie and Fannie Webster, and his brother, Donald Webster.
He is survived by his daughters, Anne MacNeil Hill of Friendswood, Texas and Kimberlea Susan Henley of Pasadena, Texas; sons, Alfred Stephen Webster of Jones, Oklahoma and Scott Cameron Webster of Spring, Texas; and grandchildren; Cameron, Mickey and Spencer Webster, and Madeline and Lance Hill.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the medical staff of Methodist Hospital and Bayshore Medical Center. Their dedication and effort to provide quality care to Dr. Webster was a heartwarming blessing to the entire family. We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him.

One of my favorite memories of Dr Webster is when he had me assist him with a prank on one of his patients. Never a dull moment! He will be missed!

Dr. Webster was one of the first surgeons I met as a new nurse many years ago. I always enjoyed making rounds with him and visiting with him in the hallways. He will certainly be missed and remembered always.

So very sorry for your loss, he was an amazing surgeon who removed part of my mother's colon several years back and took excellent care of her. I lost her this past year, she was 77. She was French and could speak French. Ancestors from Nova Scotia migrated to Louisiana and we moved to Pasadena in 1957.
