BOBBY LEON LAIN, 67, followed Christ home on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, while resting at his residence in Deer Park, Texas, ensuing a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on December 15, 1943, in Stamford, Texas to Shelton and Etta Dell Lain. Bobby "Lightening Lain" was raised in Anson and played high school football. He worked in various operational capacities at Shell Refinery for over 25 years prior to his retirement in 2003. He enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, reading, hunting and making quality time for friends. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Delbert Lain; sisters, Willie Ruth "Lee" Davis, Mary Helen Hensley and Jo Lynn McEuan. He is survived by his daughter, Veness Nettles and husband David Nettles; son, John Lindner; sister, Inez Kenny; brothers, David, Billy, and Donnie Lain; grandsons, David, John and Jordan Nettles; granddaughter, Dusti Nettles; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7pm on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas 77505. Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Friday, September 16, 2011, in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Mount Hope Cemetery located on Highway 180 in Anson, Texas.
