Christopher Bowling Obituary

"I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die." John 11:25-26

Christopher James Bowling was born on December 13, 1979, in Houston, Texas to James and Debbie Bowling. He passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015 in Murphy, Texas. Chris graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1998. He loved to swim, bowl, and play soccer and baseball. He was on the high school swim team and FFA. He raised a pig named "Shorty" for his FFA project his senior year.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1998 to the year 2000 when he injured his foot and was given a medical disability. After his service to his country he attended the MTI College of Business and Technology in Clear Lake and received an Associate's Degree in 2002.

He was baptized in 2005 after making a public profession of his faith in Jesus Christ at the Memorial Baptist Church.

When Chris was an 18 month old toddler he got caught in Grandpa Schwartz's garage dragging his sledge hammer around. His uncles got a kick out of that and gave him the nickname, "Bamm-Bamm", after the cartoon character Bamm-Bamm Rubble, Barney and Betty Rubble's little boy of the Flintstones.

He is preceded in death by his two grandfather's: W. C. "Bill" (Papa) Bowling and Robert Schwartz.

He is survived by his mother and father, James Patrick Bowling and Debbie Schwartz Bowling; his two big brothers: Carl Bowling, and J.P. Bowling (Terri); his two sisters: Melissa Dollens (Clint Dollens), and Amy James (Eric James); his Grandparents: Andrew and Etta Wisenbaker, Martha Schwartz, and Patsy Bowling Woodbury; and his multitude of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins. All will miss him greatly. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, March 18, 2015 between 5:00 and 8:00. Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 19 at 10:00 a.m. at the Grand View Funeral Home. The funeral will be followed by a short graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask you make a donation to the Paralyzed Veterans of America at www.pva.org in memory of Christopher.

We will dwell upon those good days...days that made him happy and full of life. Chris was a family man and loved us all, especially his nieces and nephews just as this uncle love his nephew Chris. Let's live out our lives in a worthy manner to give honor to the Lord who has taken it upon himself to give us hope.

I am very sorry for your loss, my words seem so inadequate so I will lift my prayers asking God to grant y'all grace and mercy during this difficult time. I did not have the pleasure in meeting Christopher and look forward to meeting him in Heaven one day. I went to church with Teri and JP.

Chris was an amazing Uncle to Sara and Jakob! As Clint's sister and Melissa's FAVORITE sister in law, I got to see first hand how great of a Brother he was to her. There was never an event or birthday party that Chris didn't attend. He loved his family and friends so dearly and he had an amazing personality where he made you feel like you had been friends with him forever! I loved Chris and I'm so glad he was part of our family as well. I will always remember how happy he was and how he never gave up! He fought the good fight and finished the race! He's up in Heaven with Jason now, doing more great things for God!

My heart is broken with the loss of sweet precious Chris. He has been my grandson since the age of 4. I have such fond memories of him and all my Bowling family. The memories of all the birthday and holiday get togethers in our home still warms my heart. I am blessed to have had you in my life. I pray that all of you find peace and comfort while dealing with the loss of Chris. I love each and every one of you.

It breaks my heart that such a young man was taken to soon. My deepest sympathy to the entire Bowling Family. My Prayers are for all of you to find comfort in our Lord Jesus. Chris was such a kind soul. He was always friendly and saw the good in all people. Pat and Debbie, we are not supposed to bury our babies. We will continue to pray for peace. Siblings, I know how difficult it is to loose a brother. It is very hard. It has been 6 years and I still miss him every day. Listen, he is all around you. Stay Strong. May our Lord be with you. The wonderful thing about our faith is that we will see our loved one in eternity.
