David Grant Harris

1961 - 2021

David Grant Harris, age 60, passed away on August 16th, 2021, at his home in Webster, TX.

David was born on January 9th, 1961, in Houston, TX to O.L. and Verna Harris.

David is survived by his three children, Raegan Harris, Rachel Harris, and Ryan Harris, as well as his sister, Suzan Harris, and his niece, Lexie Lewis.

David is preceded in death by his father, O.L. Harris and his mother, Verna Harris.

David graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in 1979 and continued his education at the University of Houston. David sold insurance for Insurica, previously known as Guaranty, for 27 years until he passed. He cherished his relationships with his clients and coworkers, many of whom became lifelong friends. David was a member of the Ticket Sales Committee for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo and enjoyed taking his family and friends each year.

David could always be quoted as "living the dream", and for him, that meant being a selfless, intentional, and kind father to his three kids. He showcased his love for their lives and achievements everywhere he went. He cherished shared meals, trips to the movies, Topgolf dates, and moving his daughters to Nashville and his son to Shreveport to pursue their dreams.

In addition to spending time with family and friends, David had a passion for golf. You could find him participating in almost every tournament at the Magnolia Creek Golf Club on the weekends and took great pride in winning. David hit two hole-in-ones throughout his career in golf-the first in January 2001 and the second in February 2021. David also enjoyed watching sports, especially the Astros, at the Buffalo Wild Wings minutes away from his home with his many friends.

David will be missed by many.
