Doris L. Soape, 90, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014 in Pasadena, Tx. Born to Rufus & Jessie Batten October 2, 1923 in Tabor, Tx. Doris retired from The U. S. Postal Service in Pasadena after about 25 years.
She is survived by daughters Barbara Strickland-husband Dan, Linda Morris-husband Wayne, Teresa Soliz-husband Frank; sons, Bill Soape-wife Lavon, Bruce Soape-wife Jo; sisters, Mary Simpson, Jean Jones & Catherine Alter, and brother Ronnie Batten. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren & 3 great great grandchildren.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 44 years, Lloyd C. Soape, sons, Glen and Kenny Soape, sisters, Dorothy Bownds, Ruth Sokol & Hazel McMillan and brother Carlton Batten. Pallbearers include Greg Markle, Michael Gill, Brian Soape, William Soape, Ronnie Soape, Wesley Soape, Joseph Bobbitt.
Family will receive friends for visitation at Forest Park East, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, Tx on Friday, May 30, 5:00-8:00pm with funeral services taking place Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 10:00 am.
