Edier "Ed" Cornor, Jr., 84, of Deer Park, Texas, passed into the arms of his Heavenly Father in the early morning of Thursday, January 15th, 2015. Ed was born August 16th, 1930 to Effie Leonard and Edier Cornor, Sr. in Kaplan, Louisiana. After graduating from Kaplan High School of Vermillion Parish in 1948, Ed joined the United States Army serving his country as an ambulance driver during the Korean War. During this time he married his high school sweetheart, Helen Rose Bertrand, in September 1951. From this union they raised their five treasured children, Idis Gail, Randy, Patrick, Wesley and John. After retiring from Ethyl Corp as an Operator for 30 years, Ed enjoyed spending time with his family at their vacation house overlooking Lake Conroe. He continued to work hard, ensuring this house would remain a welcomed retreat for years to come, which it still remains. His garden was a priority and the bounty every year was proof of his dedication. He enjoyed tinkering with tools and repairing things as he threw next to nothing away, because he knew he was capable of fixing anything and everything. Ed was the handyman on Reta Street to neighbors all around. Ed loved his family dearly, took great pride in all of his boys and helped develop the talents and gifts he saw in each of them. Ed has been united once again with his precious baby girl Idis Gail, grandson Clayton, sisters Helen Bouillon and Myrtis Miia. Ed is survived by his loving and most caring wife of 63 years, Helen; sons Randy and wife Katie, Pat and wife Janet, Wes and fiancé Tamra, and John and wife Tammy; grandsons Jason, Nicholas, Morgan, Jake, Max and Tyler; granddaughter Sarah; great-grandson Ashton; and great-granddaughters Chloe and Ella Grace Cornor. Special acknowledgments to the wonderful staff at San Jacinto Manor who cared for our entire family with their sincere concern over the past years. Thank you to AMED Hospice for the comfort and care given to our loved one. Services will be held at Grand View Funeral Home in Pasadena, Texas, with a visitation on Sunday, 5pm - 8pm and funeral on Monday at 10am. Bob Hotten of Centerpoint Community Church will be officiating.

Mrs. Corner, I was saddened when I heard of your husbands passing. I said to Lorna Garrett one day at San Jacinto Manor that I had not seen you in a few days and she told me he had gone home to Heaven. I didn't know your husband except at SHM, but I know you loved him dearly by the way you cared for him and showed your affection to him. You were so faithful.. God bless you and take joy in knowing that you see him again.

Cousin Ed! Oh how you impacted my life. Your encouragement to your sons and me to follow our musical talent and supporting us every step of the way meant a lot.
Driving us to the gigs and helping with the loading and unloading of our equipment as we were too young to do on our own. Your son Randy taught me my first bass notes and my first band with Wes and Pat started it all off.
You touched many people in this life and will be remembered always. RIP and prayers for the Corner family.

Pat - I am keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. We are never ready to lose our loved ones but he will always be in your hearts. I am so glad you were all with him last week and he got to hear some beautiful guitar music before he went to heaven.
