Edward Dewayne Martwick was born November 11, 1959 and went to be with his Savior on August 31, 2011 at the age of 52. He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and spent the majority of his life in Pasadena, Texas. Eddie was a man of great character and had a huge heart.
Eddie's true passion was sports; baseball being his ultimate favorite. He excelled in baseball as an all-star pitcher and went as far as to try out for the Astros farm teams. Eddie was known to many as Coach Eddie. For over 25 years, he has been a dedicated pitching and hitting instructor for baseball and softball. Eddie founded, owned, and operated his own business: Sport Specialist of Fundamentals in Pasadena, and has trained hundreds of talented students that have gone on to represent him in a variety of achievements. Throughout his life he continued to share his love of baseball, positively impacting the lives of those around him, and creating numerous opportunities for his students.
Eddie was a loving father, grandfather, brother, son, friend, neighbor, and coach. He was full of life and brought inspiration through his strength, passion, and determination. He always put forth "150 percent", giving his best, and challenging those around him to do the same.
Eddie is survived by his mother Helen Fields, brothers Herbert, Doyle, and James Martwick, and sister Denise McQuay. He is also survived and dearly loved by his daughters Niccole Christenson, Courtney and Lucinda Martwick, his son Joseph Martwick, his granddaughters Bryanna Hudspeth and Katelyn Christenson, as well as his dedicated and loving companion, Shelly Hewett.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm Monday, September 5th, 2011, and the service celebrating Eddie's life will be at 2:00pm Tuesday, September 6th, 2011, all held at Niday-Fairmont Funeral Home.
