Dear Rick,
I just discovered your dad's obituary tonight. He was so dear. Every Sunday at St. Peter's he would say hello to me, kiss me on the cheek, and ask me how I was doing. He was a gentleman in every sense of the word. While I worked with you at Arc Oil I thought the same of you. Now I see where your gentle and kind mannerisms came from. His legacy lives on in you.
Love,
Larissa Williams Botik

To the Reitz Family,
I was priviledged to work with Floyd back in 1977 in the Safety Department at Shell Chemical. He was a wonderful man and someone that I will always remember. I pray that our Lord and Savior Jesus will wrap his arms around all of you and give you peace.

November 22, 2012,

When I think about one of my favorite TV programs ever, Father Knows Best, I sincerely think about the Reitz family - Mr. and Mrs. Reitz, Rick and Linda had every good quality a family should have! I have so many memories of their positive influence upon all of us. When I told my sweet wonderful 103 year old Mom, Ima, about Mr. Reitz the first that she said was "They were and are such a wonderful family". Please know that we love you all and will be thinking of you!

My sincere condolences to Mrs. Reitz and to the family. I worked with Mr. Reitz at Shell-Deer Park for 40 years. He was an outstanding employee, kind, humble, soft-spoken, and a real gentleman. He reflected the best of Christianity, and was a role model for all of his subordinates. His brilliant mind served Shell well, and with his passing, the nation has suffered a great loss. He will be missed by all who knew him.

As the daughter of Katherine Robertson, I have wonderful memories of family vacations in New Braunfels with dear friends Floyd and Mary Reitz. I and my family treasure those vacation memories. Floyd kept us all laughing. Floyd was a natural athlete, and he encouraged all the children in various athletic activities. We children all looked forward to the summer and New Braunfels with Floyd and Mary.
My mother adored Floyd and Mary, and was always so appreciative of their friendship and loyalty. She is in a nursing home now and unable to express her condolences.
For both of us I am writing to say that Floyd's memory will be cherished by all of us. Kay Haslam and Katherine Robertson
