Gladys Janacek Foerster, 93, a resident of Pasadena for 23 years, passed away on January 16, 2018. She was born on October 11, 1924 in Dayton, TX, graduated from Dayton High School in 1942 and then attended Massey Business College in Houston. She retired from Gulf Oil in 1985 after 40 years of service. She belonged to American Legion Auxiliary Unit 521 and St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Deer Park, Texas.
Gladys is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years in 2009, Wilbert W. Foerster, her parents, Marcel and Viola Janacek of Dayton (Eastgate Community), her brother, Leroy Janacek of Crosby, sister-in-law, Dorothy Janacek and her niece, Bridget Janacek Smith.
Gladys is survived by nieces and nephews, Monalisa Matthews and husband Ray, Leroy (Buddy) Janacek and wife Barbara, Gary Janacek and wife Sandy, Rebecca Robertson, Chris Janacek and wife Sally, Teena Galvan and husband Rick and Elise and John Oren. Gladys is survived by many great nieces and nephews as well as special friends, Gene and Barbara Coker of Livingston, TX.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018 at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, 2921 Center St., Deer Park, TX 77536. at 1:00pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in memory of Gladys may be sent to St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, Building Fund at above address.
