J R Hunt was born March 30, 1934 and died October 27, 2013. He was raised in Hunt County Texas and graduated high school 1952 in Celeste, TX. He married his high school sweetheart Betty Raper in 1953 and resides at their home in Pasadena, Texas. JR is survived by his two sons, Ronnie and wife Jackie Hunt of Houston, TX and Jay and wife Kimberly Hunt of Pasadena, TX. Many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survived by brother, Travis Hunt and wife Betty Ann from Tyler, TX. Many caring nieces and nephews.
JR was a business owner of Kapital Kampers, Inc. in South Houston, TX for over 50 years and was a hard worker and active in civic affairs of his little town. JR was the President of the Lions Club, Rotary Club, and Chambers of Commerce in South Houston at different times and South Houston Citizen of the year in 1985.
JR is preceded in death by his parents, Travis and Opal Hunt, sister Melba Fritz, niece Carol Fritz and granddaughter Miranda Hunt Twitty.
He was a dedicated member of Watters Road Church of Christ in Pasadena, TX.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Grand View Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Funeral services will take place at Watters Road Church of Christ, 3616 Watters Rd., Pasadena, TX 77504 on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
