Jack Wright Obituary

On April 5, 2012, Kirl " Jack " Wright (Pawpaw) made a peaceful journey to his heavenly home and no doubt was greeted by his creator who said, "Well done, my good and faithful servant." Jack, the second of five sons, was born on September 1, 1929 in Grenada, MS to Arthur and Bunch Wright. Brother Jack, as he was affectionally called by members of Second Baptist Church in Deer Park, TX, served as pastor of the church for 43 years. Brother Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne, his parents, Arthur and Bunch Wright, and three brothers, Luther, Lewis, and Clayton. Jack is survived by "his girls" Sandra Richey of Deer Park, TX and Mary Nichter and son-in-law Max of Trinity, TX, one brother and wife, James and Roslyn Wright of Macon, GA, sister-in-law Joyce Wright of Winnie, TX. He treasured his seven grandchildren and their families, Thomas Richey of Deer Park, Chris and Brandi Richey and their children, Meghan, Jackson, Nixon, and Lincoln of Deer Park, Zach and Mikah Richey and their children, Madeline, Isabella, Zachary, and Maximus of Pearland, TX, Emily and Dusty Manning of Deer Park, and Craig Richey of Pasadena, TX, Lindsey Battarbee of Austin, TX, and Brooke and Bowie Perry and their son, Gage. In addition, he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Jack Wright touched the lives of many people with his tender loving heart, unselfish giving, and sense of humor; he will be forever missed by those fortunate enough to have known him. Visitation will be Friday, April 6, 2012 from 6PM to 8PM at Grand View Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 2PM at San Jacinto Baptist Church 310 W. P Street in Deer Park. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park. Pastor Chris Richey will be officiating. I praise God for the faithfulness of this Great Man of God. He prepared the way for LifeBridge Baptist Church to be where she is today.

I grew up at the Second Baptist Church in Deer Park. My mother was the pianist/organist for 41 years before her death in 2005. I cut my teeth running through those halls and sitting in the second pew up front on the right.

Brother Jack touched my life in more ways than I can mention here, and his death leaves a hole in many of us. More importantly though, it is the promise of ever-lasting life that resounds in my heart now. He is the recipient of the many rewards he has taught us about for as long as we can remember. He is with Jeneane, my mother, and all those who have gone before us, and he rejoices in the warm and loving presence of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jack Wright was an unwavering Christian, and was an ever present and integral part of my christian faith and development. I loved him as I loved my own father. He is responsible for as much of my life and lessons as I can say. He presided over the weddings, funerals, and countless church sermons of my family ever since I was born. While I am saddened at his leaving, I am refreshed in my faith.
John 14, vs 1-7 reminds us of the promises made to us by God, that where he is, we may be also, that Jesus went to prepare us a place, and that we will all be together again....

Miss you Brother Jack.... Go rest High....

For my family....
The memories flood my mind today of my Uncle Jack. His house always being so cold...him chasing me yelling "come here ya little rascal" while saying he was going to pull my teeth. Hearing him preach, his voice would rumble the sanctuary. His words of encouragement when we would talk. His love and care for Aunt Jeanine. When I called him in November to tell him his oldest brother, Luther, had passed away, he simply said "I am jealous". I have known all my life he was a man of God, and now I know he is in no more pain. He was met at the Gates of Heaven by Jesus himself and said to him "Come in my Good and Faithful servant, I have a new house for you and you can live here for eternity". Thank you for the legacy you have left behind for our family along with Uncle Lewis, Uncle Clayton and Uncle Luther. I wont say goodbye...I will see ya later, ya little rascal! I love you...I Love my family!

The McCauley family offers our deepest condolences to the love-ones of Jack during this time of grief.

Jack will be greatly missed at our Church as well as his familiar "Amen" sounding out during the message. But I am confident that Jack is getting to say "Amen" now directly to his Creator, to the Savior's delight.

I know the memories of Jack will live on for his family members and friends until we see him again, and I am certain that the wisdom he taught and shared, will be passed down for generations to come. Jack touched the lives of many for the Father's glory in which he now receives his just rewards.

We pray for the hurting friends and families during this time of mourning and trust God will bring you comfort and healing.
