James Richard Coward, age 84, went to be with the Lord on August 27, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with cancer at MD Anderson Hospital. He was born on June 27, 1927 in Republic, Missouri to Glen Alice and George Benton Coward. He is survived by the love of his life Susie Lee Coward and their children, Austin and Evelyn Halbrook, James and Carole Coward, George and Johanna Coward. Jim left a legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Joshua & Ciara Coward, Jonathan & Melissa Coward, Joel & Patricia Coward, Sarah Coward, James Coward, Jacob Knapp, Kadence Coward, Francisco Patino, Thomas Coward, Ezekiel Patino, Morgan Coward, Claire Coward, Jonathan Coward Jr., Isaac Coward and Charles Coward. Music was one of the most important things to him in life, second only to his wife and family. He enjoyed singing in church most every Sunday, as well as cycling and the great outdoors. His favorite place on earth was Big Bend National Park. We will truly miss our Dad, his laughter was contagious, his music glorious and his love unending. A Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church 2301 South Houston Rd. Pasadena, TX 77502.
