John Accomando Obituary
John Frank Accomando, age 42, died on December 23, 2012 at his home in League City, Texas.
John was born on December 21, 1970, the only child to parents Roslyn Louviere Accomando and Frank Accomando. John was a product of Clear Creek ISD in League City where he made lifelong friends. When he graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1989, John was one of 25 seniors who received the faculty Medallion Award given to outstanding seniors who exhibited service, leadership, character, and scholarship during their high school years.
John loved rescue work at an early age and dedicated his life to community and health care services. John joined the League City Volunteer Fire Department at age 16. He also worked at the League City pool as a lifeguard and swimming instructor, teaching the water babies class. He was an Explorer with the League City Police Department in 1987.
John received an Associate degree for emergency medical technician from San Jacinto Junior College. He served at EMS Chief in League City from October 1993 to May 2004. He followed that with an Associate degree as a paramedic. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing with a 4.0 GPA from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in May 2009.
John reached his lifelong goal of being a degreed nurse for Life Flight in 2009. Prior to that, he was the clinical director of EMS of Montgomery County Hospital District and a Life Flight paramedic for Memorial Hermann at Houston Medical Center.
John's favorite hobby was scuba diving. He was certified at the age of 12 and enjoyed diving with his dad Frank on many family vacations to Hawaii, Grand Cayman, and St. Thomas. As an adult, John renewed himself after working at his high-stress job by going on scuba trips to the Carribean with many friends.
John was survived by his son Andrew Frank Accomando, his daughter Lauren Ann Accomando, and their mother Rachel Elaine Accomando, his parents Frank and Roslyn Accomando, his aunts Vinci Greco, Alma Louviere Landry, his uncle Cordell G. Louviere, his great-aunt Doris Granger Prados, his great uncle Alfred Granger, many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Lena Sciortina Accomando and John Accomando and Odette Granger Louviere and H. J. Amos Louviere and cousin David Greco.
The visitation will be at St. Mary Catholic Church, 1612 East Walker, League City, Texas on Friday, December 29th from 6 to 9 pm with the celebration service at 7 pm. The funeral will be at St. Mary Catholic Church on Saturday, December 30th at 10:30 am with a luncheon immediately following at Cargill Hall on the church grounds.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of John Accomando to Memorial Hermann Foundation/Life Flight, 929 Gessner Suite 2650, Houston, Texas 77024.

To the family I'm heart broken im sorry i found out as late as i did. I was john LMT. John was always the one to cheer u up, crack a joke and make u laugh. John was so generous w his heart and eager ambition the things you taught me I will never forget. John was full of knowledge and always open minded. Great family man and father. I was John's childhood babysitter. So, I didn't get to meet him as the wonderful adult he obviously became. I will always remember him as cute, little JohnJohn. I have many fond memories of reading "Chatterduck" to him about a zillion times, his playfullness, and of his infectious laughter. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Dear Frank and Family, John was wonderful to work with. We were able to make a lot of positive changes because of his vision and leadership. He will truly be missed. I pray that God will grant you peace in the days that follow. To his friends it would be great to keep his memory alive by leaving a permanent memorial in the City he grew up in. I was blessed to have hired John in the STICU at Memorial Hermann and watch him grow into his role as a RN, espically making the transition from parmedic. It was a cause for much laughter. John had a wicked sense of humor, demonstrated compassion to his patients and families and loved his children. You will be missed.

I knew John since Junior high in League city. The first time I met John was when he worked in the library and then he volunteered in the police force. He was always such a great guy and nicest person you would meet. It was a pleasure to have known him.

I was blessed to work with John as a new paramedic at Hermann Life Flight. I did not work with him as often as some but seeing his smilling face and hearing him crack jokes made the drive to East base well worth the trip. John's influence to my career and life will never be forgotten.

Our family got to know John when he was a rookie at Life Flight and my dad was a flight nurse. When my dad died in 1995, John was there for my sister and I, and to this day we remember his kindness, his smile, his support. He was such a good man. Rest in peace.

John, you were an amazing father, friend, brother in Christ, and person in general. No one deserves to die young and words cannot describe how much you will be missed.
