JOYCE D. OTT crashed the pearly gates at the age of 79. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Mama, nothing I write can capture how I feel or will bring anywhere near the honor I would like to bestow. You were simply a great mother. I knew it when I was a child and I realized it even more when I grew up and had a family of my own. Thank you for every sacrifice and every happiness--there were too many of each to count. You showed us every day what it means to love others more than yourself and to put the needs of your children first. I miss you so much and am so grateful for every second God gave me with you on this earth. I am even more grateful that we will be reunited in Heaven. I love you so much!

Mama,
Words seem to fail me as I try to sum up what it meant to me to have you as my mother. I have never known a mother who loved or sacrificed more for her children than you did. The words didn't come easy for you, but your actions spoke loudly of your love for us. And you did it all without help. As the days number without you here on earth with us, I am made more and more aware of the comfort of what knowing you were there meant. And you were always there! Just a visit or a phone call and you made everything ok. I will miss that so much. You made our childhood home the very happiest of places. It was a home filled with love and a place all of our friends wanted to be. We didn't have alot, and somehow you provided for us in such a way that we didn't know how little we had. Until I saw how much you did without for yourself. And I want you to know that I remember that Mama. I know the sacrifices you made, and you made them with grace! I thank you for that., that and so many other things! But mostly Mama for loving us. You loved us all, each one for what we were. Unconditionally and without fail. I thank God everyday that he gave me you for a Mother. And I thank you for loving me.That same love extended to your grandchildren and great grandchildren. We all have such special memories that will help to ease our loss. It still seems uncomprehensible that I won't be able to see or touch you. But I know that you still watch over us just like you have always done. And that we will one day see you again. Until then, I will think of you and miss you everyday of my life. I love you Mama and miss you more than words can say! Till we meet again...
Your loving daughter, Rhonda

Mama,
Thank you for your unconditional love and for all the sacrifices you made for us. You always made sure our wants and needs were met while you did without much. I want to thank you for all the joy you filled our lives with and for all the holidays you made so special. Thank you for always supporting us and for always welcoming our friends into our home and adopting them like they were your own. Thank you for all the memories I will hold dear to my heart: Easter egg hunts, Christmas mornings, watching the Miss America pageant, being our class room mother, Thanksgiving
dinners, going to concerts and the rodeo, walking to the grocery store, crabbing on the pier, shopping at Hobby Lobby, looking for concrete animals at Frazier's and so many more. You made everything fun! You loved us sacrificially and filled our lives with joy. Thank you for being my mama and my best friend. I will miss you so much and will love you always.
Love Shana

To the family.... Your Mom was a joyful person... I remember her laugh and don't think I ever saw her while she was not smiling. My heart goes out to you all. I love you cousins. Just remember, you will see her again in heaven. Next Monday will be 2 years ago exactly that my Mom left this earth. Now they can visit each other in heaven! My love to you all....Terri Ott Viola

Mama Ott, I will miss you. I will never forget how you treated me like family the very first day we met. I can't thank you enough for bringing my brother into this world. He has been a gift for me and my family for many years. I know from our many talks that you meant the world to him and he spent much of those years trying to become a man you could be proud of. I think he made it Mama! I love you and will miss you terribly! Forever your Yankee son! Jake, Kathi and Grant

I have and never will forget this sweet lady. She will always be Mama Ott to me. Growing up, she was always a mother figure to me. I will never forget her delicious mashed potatoes and Coke she always had in the tray underneath the freezer. I'm sure we drove her crazy spending so much time at her house, but she made us love her. Her passing has left me with nothing but great memories and her smile! I will never forget! You will forever be in my heart. I love you! Denise Stewart Slay
