Neal Fletcher Murray, was born to Charles Frederick Murray and Ruth Elizabeth Fletcher in Slaton, Texas on June 5, 1928 and passed away September 12, 2011.
Neal spent his time throughout Texas and the world. His young adulthood travels started with two tours in the Navy, experiences with the Marines as well. Holding a Bachelor's Degree from University of Texas, and earning a Master's Degree from UCLA between military tours, Neal entered into civilian life including a lengthy career in hospital administration and related health care fields, also earning a pilot's license as another proud achievement. Retiring in 1990, Neal maintained a strong interest in life at sea, attaining a U. S Merchant Marine Officer license in 2000 after spending years sailing the tropics on a full time basis. His land based preoccupations included becoming a Master Gardener, University of Texas Football fan, and being outdoors with his loved ones. Husband to Elois Dunn Murray, brother to Ida Ruth Murray Linzy, Charles Frederick Murray, Anna Helen Maddox, and Peggy Elizabeth Beaver, father to Monica Lee Henry and Neal Scott Murray, and beloved by numerous other family and friends. The Memorial Service will be held at 1st Presbyterian Church of Pasadena, Thursday, September 15th at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Neal's name may be made to the 1st Presbyterian Church of Pasadena, or a charity of their choice.
