Richard E. Asher left his temporary home November 14, 2016 to find his mansion on the hilltop that our Lord has prepared for him. He was surrounded by family who will miss him dearly but know we will meet again. Richard was born February 13, 1939 in Groesbeck, Texas to Claudia & Walter Asher. He was the youngest of 8 children. He married his wife, Helen Oliver of 50 years on June 25, 1966 the two of them had 3 children and made beautiful music together. Richard was proceeded in death by his father Walter Asher, mother Claudia Ellis Asher, Sister Maudie Asher,Mary Asher, Lillie Mae Tumblinson, Betty Kroll, Ruby Jenkins. Brother Edgar Asher and Daughter Donna Marie Asher. He is survived by Wife Helen Asher, Daughter Tammy Retzer and husband Bobby of Baytown, Son Mark Asher and wife Michele of Pasadena, 6 Grandchildren Robert Retzer and wife Ivone, Tamlyn Hayman and husband Toby, Tyler Retzer and wife Hannah, Taaka Asher, Kyle Smith and wife Nichole, Greg Meismer and wife Sarah, 8 Great grandchildren Talyn, Talee, Penelope, Tripp, Tee, Tinlee, Teal and Avery. Funeral service was held November 18 at 10.00 A.M. at Calvary Tabernacle, 1925 Kingsdale Dr. Deer Park, Texas. Burial was that afternoon at Kings Cemetery in Thorton, Texas at 3.00 p.m. Richard has not left us he lives on in our hearts & memories. Deer Park Funeral Directors, 281-476-4693.
