Robert Leroy Busby

1953 - 2021

Robert L. Busby, age 67, passed away peacefully on May 2nd, 2021, with his family by his side. Robert was born in Castleberry, Alabama to Tom and Jewel (Smith) Busby on November 16, 1953. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Roxana (Wennberg) Busby; sons, Ronald Busby, Bobby Busby and wife Amy, David Busby and fiancé Shelley; daughter, Cyndi Jones and husband Kevin; brothers Leon Busby and wife Charlotte, Leslie Busby and wife Brenda; sisters, Marie Williams and partner Mike, Sharon Colburn and husband Harold; grandchildren Jaclynn (Cleveland) Mauldin, Jeffrey Cleveland, Ashley Busby, Becca (Busby) Hartman, and Brock Busby; 6 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many other friends and relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents Tom and Jewel Busby, brothers Vern Busby and Billy Joe Busby, sister Shirley Busby, and niece Theresa (Busby) Patty.

Robert was a professional painter for over 45 years and was proud that his legacy has been carried on by his sons Bobby and David, and he was forever grateful to his friend and mentor Tom Patton. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling with his wife, NASCAR racing, working in the yard, and generally being outdoors. His dry sense of humor and generous heart and spirit will be greatly missed.

Visitation with the family is scheduled for Friday, May 7 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 8 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, with burial following services at Smith Memorial Park in Willis.
