Robert Goodman Obituary
12/4/1927 - 7/27/2014
Robert Wesley Goodman entered into eternal rest Sunday, July 27, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruth Lorene (Sloan) Goodman.
He is survived by three children - Roberta (Bobbie) Ann Patterson, Paul
Alan Goodman and David Charles Goodman and their spouses, and a sister, Retha Robertson.
He also leaves seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was born in
Nardin, OK, but spent the past 60 years in Texas, and passed away in Pasadena, TX.
He was a gospel preacher for more than 60 years, and also was good with car and house repairs, and had previously enjoyed watching football and baseball games, hunting, golfing, tinkering with computers, travel, family get-togethers, singing, and attending church services. The visitation will be Monday, August 4, 2014 from 1 PM to 2 PM at Southside Church of Christ, 4110 Preston Ave., Pasadena TX 77505, with the funeral immediately following at 2 PM.
Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505 next to his beloved wife Ruth, but there will be no graveside service.

Dear family of Robert Goodman, our experience with Robert has been the past 2 years, as members of Southside Church of Christ. We always enjoyed his smiles and encouragement for us. We appreciate Paul for allowing us to spend time with Robert during the past 12 months in hospice care. May the Lord provide us with grace and mercy to see Robert again...

Dear family and friends of Brother Goodman, please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. Unfortunately, I never met him but as a new member of Southside Church of Christ, I sure wish I had. I wish I had been there to hear him preach, to shake his hand, give him a hug and see his warm smile. I've heard he was an exceptionally fine fellow. Our loss is Heaven's gain.

Bobbie and family, my sincere sympathy goes out to all of you. I did not know your dad, but we (Bobbie and I) went to high school together and then Bobbie was my instructor in nursing school and I worked with Aiden. I too am a member of the Church of Christ and I know we will someday meet. May God give you comfort in up coming days.

Sincere condolences to the Goodman family. The Martinez/Palacios/Mendez families first met Mr Robert (as we called him) 4 yrs ago when my mother, Josephine Martinez, also went to stay with Ms Maria, their wonderful caregiver. Mr Robert was always so friendly & cheerful and he was always eager to share with us the funny jokes he had just received from his friends over the internet. We will never forget his kindness & thoughtfulness, especially when he attended my mother's funeral almost 3 yrs ago. He will be missed, but we know that he is now in a much better place. Rest in Peace Mr Robert.
