Shirley Ann Blacksmith, 77, passed away on October 22, 2012 in Pasadena, Texas. She was born on July 16, 1935 in Kirksville, Missouri to Willard and Martha Kelsey. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Willard Kelsey and Martha Luttman-Kelsey; as well as 3 brothers, and 3 sisters. She is survived by her husband, Harold Blacksmith; older brother, Willard Kelsey, Jr.; 2 sons, David Blacksmith and his wife Julie, Larry Blacksmith and his wife Cirena; 5 grandchildren, Michael Blacksmith, Emily Browder, Christopher Blacksmith, Matthew Blacksmith, Natalie Blacksmith; and 1 great grandson, Bryson Browder. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 in the chapel of Grand View Funeral Home from 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m., with funeral services to begin at 1:30 p.m. To share words of comfort with the family, please visit www.grandviewfunerals.com

Shirley was a very loving and giving person and a cherished friend and co-worker. I worked closely with her for many years. I cared for her very much. She loved her family more than anything in this world. She will be missed and my thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
