Steve Gilbert Obituary

Stephen Everett Gilbert born August 27,1958 in New Iberia, Louisiana to Clyde and Joan Gilbert; passed May 8, 2014 at the age of 55. He lived in Pasadena/Deer Park, Texas for the past 35 years. They went on to be members of Lakewood Church and most recently worshipped at First Baptist Church Pasadena. He is survived by his loving wife Sheryll Gilbert and devoted children Scott Gilbert and wife Erica, and Cheyenne Aguillard and husband Dave. He was an affectionate and loving husband and father. A recent grandfather, he leaves behind two granddaughters Esther Grace Aguillard and Jubilee Acrylic Gilbert. Working most of his life as a pipe fitter, he worked immensely hard for his family, who he loved beyond measure. Living a selfless life, he always put others before himself. I had the pleasure of working with Steve at the Ineos BMC site. Steve was one on the first poeple to come up and welcome me to the site. Although I only new Steve for a few months he was a pleasure to be around. Always enjoyed hearing him talk especially during the safety meetings, no matter what kind of morning you were having he would make the whole room start laughing. You will be missed my Friend!

To the family, thank you for sharing your love(Steve)with us, I have work with him for many years and he was a joy to work around, I had the privilege of listen to the many jokes he told, some with laughter and some I am still trying to get the punch line(smiling). We would also teased each other a lot after we found out we were both from Alexandria, Lousiana. May God bless and keep you guys in his loving arms and send his holy spirit to comfort each of you in the days to come in Jesus name I pray Amen

I just heard of Steve's move to heaven. I am so terribly sorry about your loss. He and I went to church together as kids and teenagers, here, in Alexandria at First Assembly of God. I am a few years older than Steve was but he was a wonderful friend. He was always a passenger in my vehicle wherever I seem to be travelling. What a terrible loss to his children and wife and parents. He will truly be missed. My heart and prayers go out to each of you. I was very blessed to have Steve has a friend in my younger years.

I worked with Steve here at Ineos and I was glad I met him cause there is no other person like him that when you came to work not 100% smiling he would look at you and start talking then slide one of his jokes and that would just make your day. I really enjoyed going to the fab shop and walk up to him just to talk to him cause he always made me smile and turn my day around. He was an awesome friend & co-worker but most of all he was like family here at Ineos. He will be missed a lot but I know that he's still around us. "

Steve was a great friend and a great coworker. He was always willing to stop what he was doing to teach anybody what they needed to know to get the job done right. I never found him in a bad mood and Steve was always willing to share his joy in life with everyone. I am going to miss him. May God send his comfort and blessings to the family in this time of loss.
