Wesley Monteith Sr., 62, formerly of Seabrook, passed away July 2, 2014. He was born September 10, 1951 in Farmington NM.
Wesley Monteith graduated from South Houston High School in 1970. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1986 with a degree in technology, and also graduated from the Art Institute of Houston and from San Jacinto College with an auto-cad degree.
Wesley entered the United States Air Force in 1971 and was a Vietnam veteran. He was also a retired member of the Texas Air National Guard 147th Fighter Interceptor Group after over 20 years of distinguished service.
Wesley was a long time member of First United Methodist of Pasadena and greatly enjoyed volunteer work.
Wesley had many hobbies during his love of life. He was an accomplished artist. He loved fishing with his friends. He had a love of distance running and completed over 75 marathons. He loved music.
Wesley greatly enjoyed giving of his time and support in helping others. He was very proud of his time and work with Narcotics Anonymous along with his 30 plus years of recovery.
Wesley was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Margaret Monteith; and his sisters,Elouise Bennett,Robin Monteith and Glenda Johnson. He is survived by his son, Wesley Monteith Jr; brother, Robert Monteith; nieces, Teresa Harris and husband Kelly andKrystal Easleyand husband Lance; nephew, Patrick Monteith and wife Ellen.
A memorial visitation for Wesley will be held on July 16th at 1:00 p.m. with a memorial service following at 2:00p.m.atNavarre Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, Texas 77521
In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made in memory of Wesley Monteith Sr. to MD Anderson Liver Research or to St. Lukes Liver Research.

I knew Wes when we were in the 147th at Ellington Fld. Easy to talk to and work with. Then l after he worked for me after I made Shop Supvsr. Always rdy to work the jets. I have one of his pin-dot drawings of 1 of our F-16s, #68/1000. I think of Wes every time I look at it.

I didn't know Wes well but he was always friendly at running events. BCRR will miss him. Thoughts and prayers for his family members.
