William F. "Bill" Mabry, 80, of Deer Park, passed away December 12, 2012.
Bill was a Korean War veteran having served in the US Air Force for 4 years with the 6920th Security Group Military Intelligence stationed in Japan as a code breaker.
He was an endowed member of La Port Masonic Lodge No. 857 and the Scottish Rite Valley of Houston Orient of Texas.
Bill was an employee of Shell Refinery in Deer Park Texas for 30 years. He was active in the community and served as Scoutmaster for Deer Park Troop 915. After his retirement he continued to be very active with the Shell Retirees Club, Meals on Wheels and the Boy Scouts of America.
His continued involvement with the Boy Scouts of America earned him The Daniel Carter Beard Masonic Scouter Award.
Bill was a skilled woodworker, avid fisherman, and loved lawn work and gardening.
Mr. Mabry is survived by his children, Alan Mabry, Anne Mabry, Kenneth & wife Michelle Mabry, grandchildren, Craig and Regan Shipp, great grandchild, Marleigh Shipp, sister Mary Bailey, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years Alma N. Mabry.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 5 to 8 pm at the Rosewood Funeral Home in Pasadena. Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 16, 2012 at 10 am in the Chapel of Rosewood Funeral Home - Pasadena with Rev. Andy Cherry officiating. Interment will follow on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 2 pm in the Sunset Cemetery in Nacogdoches, Texas.
