Charles Brooks Obituary

BROOKS -Charles J. Brooks ll, aka Chip Brooks, 47 years old, died Sunday, November 16, 2003 in Napa. Chip fought a well fought 10 month battle against pancreatic cancer. Chip grew up in Pasadena attending Allendale, Mckinley and Blair ('74). He went to PCC and UCSB were his was a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity. With his love for cooking he later attended the California Culinary Institute in San Francisco. Chip has wor ked at numerous restaurants throughout California. His dream was to one day open his own vegetarian restaurant. His most recent job was as the chef at the Acacia Winery in Napa. His passions were his family, friends, food, wine, a stimulating conversation on any topic and of course watching a good baseball game! Chip was preceded in death by his mom, Judy Brooks and his younger brother, Steve Brooks. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Kirk and her extended family, his dad Chuck Brooks, his sisters, Missy (Bruce) Hawes and Leslie (Scott) Arff and his nephews, Bradley and Charlie Hawes and Olin Arff and his nieces, Amanda Hawes and Avery Arff, his uncle/aunt, Robert and Anne Herold and cousins, Allison Herold and Kim Lucianni and families. There is an enormous sadness in our hearts left by Chip's death. A celebration of Chip's life will be held Wednesday, November 26 at 6:00 p.m. at Lake Ave Church in Pasadena. A memorial service was held in Napa on Sat. Nov. 22. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to t he Pancreatic Awareness Action Network at 877-272-6226.

We were so sorry to hear the news as Chuck knows. As you requested in lieu of flowers we will make a contribution to the organization you requested.



Chuck has been offered our home to make headquarters during the service time and we will attend the service.

Charles (senior) and I go back many many years. We have known each other all of our lives altho, I did not know any of his children. Dale and I are very saddened by Chips death.Charles has great faith and we hope that comforts him at this sad time.
