Ralph Barnett Obituary

In Loving Memory of RALPH DONA LD BARNETT Jan. 9, 1921 - May 3, 2006 Ralph Barnett, 85, passed away peacefully to be with our Lord on May 3, 2006 in San Gabriel, CA. Ralph was born on January 9, 1921 in Spokane, Washington to William Caleb and Ellen Christine Barnett. He lived in Spokane from 1921-1926, Temple City, CA, from 1926 to 1938 and Spokane from 1938 to 1940. Ralph enlisted in the Army in 1941 and served as an infantry sergeant/rifleman until 1945. He was awarded the Bronze Star for heroic achievement and was a two time Pur ple Heart recipient. He worked for Pacific Telephone from 1945 until his retirement in 1983. Ralph married Betty Hauerwaas in 1949. They had two sons, Howard from Las Vegas, Nevada and Ralph from Mariposa, CA. Ralph and Betty were happily married for 57 years. Ralph enjoyed life! His family and friends were the joy of his life. He enjoyed the camaraderie of the Alhambra Lawn Bowling Club and his many friends of the Alhambra Senior Golf Club. Sundays found him sitting by his wife's side at St. Thomas More Ca tholic Church. Important and loved in his life were Bob and Marian Hauerwaas and Family. He is survived and will be greatly be missed by his wife, Betty, son, Howard and wife, Carole, of Las Vegas, Nevada and son, Ralph and wife Lana of Mariposa, CA., grandchildren: Michael and Kim Barnett, Joshua Barnett and Azha Adney, and Dejon and Matt Huddleston. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, May 13th , at 8:00 A.M. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 2510 S. Fremont Ave., Alhambra, 626-284-8333 . Interment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Alhambra Lawn Bowling Club-Attn: Treasurer, 928 S. Pine St., San Gabriel, CA, 91776 or The Salvation Army (who helped Ralph's family during the depression.)
