Bob was quite a guy. Mary took care of my boys Alan and David while I was Parish Secretary at Trinity Episcopal. I gave my wedding dress to Jill. In thanks for that, Bob installed a bathroom at our cabin in Big Bear. He could fix anything and I was told he had a string of widows who depended on him. Bob and Mary were an incredible couple. I live in Santa Cruz now. Had to leave Redlands when Lockheed closed in Mentone. But I’m in Redlands now and then and I think of them every time I pass their house.

We're so sorry to hear about Bob. We last saw Mary during her last illness when they were living up near Center. Bob and Mary were really special and it was obvious how much they loved each other. Mary took care of our boys, Alan & David, when I was secretary at Trinity Episcopal. I gave my wedding dress to one of the girls and in return, Bob installed a 2nd bathroom in our cabin up in Big Bear. I'm mailing his obituary to Ian Johnstone who is living near Boston now. When Mary was taking care of our boys, all the McLaughlin kids were still living at home. Do please tell them all 'hello' from us. I remember them all so well, especially when I'm visiting in Redlands and pass the Fern Avenue house. With very, very best regards, Marilyn and Dalton Cantey.

I was honored to be a part of such a wonderful family. I was always amazed by Bob's wealth of knowledge in almost every subject. He was so full of life, and passed on that gift to his children. What a wonderful, wonderful man.
