Mother Doris was a sweet and wise woman with a huge heart. She tried to help anyone in need. She offered Godly counsel to every soul that she encountered. She was like a mother to me. The world was blessed to have such a wonderful spirit on earth. Rest in Heaven and we shall meet again! Love and many prayers of peace to the family!

We formed a treasured relationship early on during the education of our children that never ended. Although I have many fond memories of your sweet, sweet spirit, the greatest of all is my adoption into your family! You were always there to support me as one of the Chartered members as we worked so close together establishing the Knights of St. Peter Claver, Lady's Auxiliary. My funniest recollection is how we competed to win the award at PTA meeting by standing for the grades of our children; that was fun! Oh, I must also tell you how delicious those roll you and Lee baked and sold every Friday. While I am running out of paper and perhaps must stop writing, you will always hold a special place in my heart! R.I.P

I know you know (I am just repeating it again) your mom was always kind to me and it always made me smile to know she recognized me (and did not confuse me with my sister). It warms me just thinking about her smile, her soft voice and her demeanor. Memories will last a life time. As we know, it is in dying we gain life eternally.

Mrs. Simmons was one of the sweetest women I have ever known. I don't ever remember a time when she wasn't a part of my life. She always had a smile and a kiss. I will truly miss her. I know she had so many old friends and family members waiting at the gates of Heaven when she made her grand entrance. Fly high Mrs Simmons and give my mom a kiss for me.

Our time together was short, from August 2005 until now February 2018. Yet, we had a friendship that spanned the ages.

You will be sorely missed as Betty and I will always remember our visit to Mother Angelica's.

My sister, my giant, I love you so much.
Yes, God did bless you and, yes, God was good to you. Everytime you'd verify your age with me and I said 86, you'd repeat your age with such pride because living to that age was just one of the true blessings you received from our God.
I will miss you as much as I love you. Your baby sister, Bobbie Jean
