Jim McRory Obituary

Jim McRory

1940 - 2016

In loving memory of Jim McRory. He left this life February 8, 2016 and joined his heavenly family. To know Jim was to love him.

Jim was born in Cairo, Georgia, the only child to Walter Harold McRory and Roma Foy Johnson McRory and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. Jim was a lifelong fan of the Florida State Seminoles. Jim came to Pensacola from Jacksonville in January 1976 and was very involved in the real estate community and the Pensacola Association of Realtors with the first picture real estate magazine to be published in the Panhandle. After 20 years in the real estate magazine business that included travelling all over the United States, he joined his wife in the appraisal business as McRory Appraisers for the next 20 years.

He will be greatly missed by all of his friends in the real estate industry. His 6'3' frame was always easy to find at any event. His winning smile and easy way will always be remembered.

Jim is survived by his wife Diana. He was the proud dad to son Scott McRory (Kris McKenzie-McRory), granddaughters Ramsey McRory and Ivey McRory of Dallas, Texas, daughter Donna Marie Winchester (Rob Winchester), grandson Maddox Winchester of Atlanta, Georgia and sister-in-law Donna Farris Few of Atlanta, Georgia and also his cousins that are scattered from California to Florida that he loved like brothers and sisters.

The family would like to thank all of the amazing staff at Sacred Heart 5th floor and ICU for all of what they did to make Jim's last days as comfortable as possible. A special thanks to Jan Presley of Covenant Hospice, Marcia Bevins, and Joan Little, personal friends and three amazing ladies, with special family near and dear to his heart, Craig and Stacey Rising, Austin, Brady, and Devin.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Stover, Earl McKinney, Craig Rising, Jeff Robinson, Josh Shimp, and Austin Rising.

A member of Marcus Point Baptist church for the past 20 years and an active member in the Children's Building Committee, Jim LOVED his church and church family.

A visitation will be held Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Building Fund at Marcus Point Baptist Church, 6206 N "W" Street, Pensacola, FL 32526.
