Samuel Bearman Obituary
Pensacola - Samuel W. Bearman July 9 1951-Decembe 6, 2019
Samuel is survived by his wife Phyllis , his son, Michael, and daughter Michele.
Pre-deceased by his parents Morris and Dorothy Bearman.
Samuel attended local schools and graduated from Pensacola High school class of 1969. He attended Stetson University, graduated from Duke University, and received his Law Degree from Emory University.
He was a lifetime member of B'nai Israel Synagogue and served President of the congregation, a member of the Executive Committee, House Chairman, and Finance Committee among other positions with the congregation.
Samuel and Phyllis had the "Bearman Building" annex constructed for the congregation for use of smaller worship gatherings, meeting and study sessions.
Sammy was active in the Sertoma Club, was an original member of Pensacola Runners association, the athletic booster clubs at University of West Florida and Pensacola State College. His special interest in professional boxing had the family attending events throughout the United States. He was always supporting retired boxers with a helping hand.
Funeral services will be held a Congregation B'Nai Israel, 1829 North 9th Avenue at 10:00 AM Tuesday December 10, and internment at B'nai Israel Cemetery at Strong and "Q" Streets with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be sent to B'nai Israel Synagogue, 1829 N. Palafox Street, Pensacola, Florida, 32501

My deep condolences to the family of Sammy Bearman, my good friend from our years at Emory Law School. It was thrill to visit Sammy when I passed thru Pensacola about 8 years ago. His boxing museum exhibited a lifetime passion, with Ali heading his sports pantheon (and Hank Aaron not far behind). An uplifting and genuinely nice man, Sammy will surely be missed by those fortunate enough to have known him.

Mr. Bearman assisted me at a time I needed help the most. He never once thought of how it would benefit himself or his practice, but only what was "right." Honest and ethical people are very hard to find- he was both. His mind, determination, and work was driven by a heart for God. My family has been blessed, beyond measure, because he cared enough to stand up for what was right, even though if benefited him very little. He will be missed greatly in Pensacola. My sincerest prayers for the Bearman family.

The word "kindness" does little to describe my friend, Sammy. He was generous to a fault, always there to listen and help anyone in need. Sam was the personification of "kindness". Respectful of all he met and putting their needs before his own.
A loyal friend trusted counselor, scholar, and capable trial lawyer. His sudden passing leaves a void in our troubled world. Rest in peace, my dear friend and colleague.

Sammy was a college classmate, a companion hitch-hiker through Europe the summer of '71, and a dear friend. I admired his sardonic sense of humor, his intellect, his spirit of adventure, and his determination to do the right thing - that thing he told you was the right thing. You knew Sammy deeply cared about you when he made fun of your quirky mannerisms. He loved sports, politics, and helping folks. He deeply loved his family. Sammy will be fondly remembered and deeply missed. Rest in peace dear friend.

I knew Sammy when I was 7-17-years-old. He, my brother, and my cousin were the best of friends and classmates. Back then, he was so friendly, respectful, and full of life. When he was grown, I'm glad he had such a loving family. As there was no mention of cause of death, I pray his passing was easy. For sure, may Sammy be forever wrapped in the bonds of everlasting life.

Mr Bearman was a great man and an awesome attorney. He was one of the best trial attorneys in the USA. Mr. Bearman represented me in three automobile accidents, and in each case, he provided services second to none. May god continue to bless him and his family.

Jim and I are absolutely shocked and saddened by the news of Sam's passing. We had the incredible opportunity to know him both professionally and personally. I met Sam when I first started my media career, and became friends. Sam was an incredible attorney for us. He truly enjoyed being able to help people. His family was everything to him. I would ask about Phyllis, Michael, and Michele and he would get this HUGE smile on his face. He said they were his greatest gifts. Sam was a gentleman in the truest and rarest sense of the word. A consummate professional who spoke often and well of his beloved family. There are too few people like Sam in the world, especially in the law, and it is one of my great honors to have been able to call him a colleague and a friend. His wisdom, perspective and mentorship made everyone around him better at what they do, most importantly, at being good humans with heart. I am devasted by Sammy's death. My heart breaks to hear this news, and my condolences and prayers go out to your family at this trying time. As you know, Sammy was not only my cherished friend, he was also a collaborator in many legal cases. His passing is not only a great loss to the people who loved him, but also to the legal community and the numerous individuals he helped throughout his career.

I'm so very sad to hear of Mr. Bearman passing. He was my attorney for a case involving my father's death. He was very compassionate and kind and my mother and I liked him very much. Our prayers and sympathy go out to his family. He often mentioned his twins and was very proud of them. The world has lost a kind man.

I am so sad to learn about the passing of my friend. Samuel started out as a customer at Fitness Master. Many years later I am glad to know him as my friend. He would call me or stop by to ask about a product or training method. He always called me Coach Mike. For 3 decades we would talk about fitness and eventually get around to solving the problems of the world. He was always so kind and pleasant. I am a better person for having known Samuel!
