Samuel McInnis Obituary

Samuel Lee McInnis

Samuel Lee McInnis age 72 of Bagdad, FL began his life in heaven on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 8:15 pm. During his departure, he was surrounded by his family who adored him. Those who were unable to be by his side covered him with their love and prayers. Bravery was a common characteristic held by Mr. McInnis, he was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served his country in combat as an Army Ranger. With that same determination, he fought a gallant seventeen year battle against Parkinson's Disease that he would finally succumb to.

He was born in Brewton, AL on April 19, 1945 to the late Hunter McInnis and Alice McInnis. He was a proud retiree from Eastman Chemical Company in Milton Florida where he worked as a Chemical Operator. He would boast about his 33-year perfect attendance record after retiring in 2000. He was proud of his service as a Deacon of the Bagdad Baptist Church located in Bagdad, Florida.

Those who called Sam father, friend, brother, Paw-paw or husband knew his love for his family. He enjoyed spending time with his six grandkids, going fishing, and working in the yard. One of Sam's favorite sayings was, "The best part of a marriage is Yard Work!" He will be forever missed and loved by all who knew him.

Samuel (Sam) was preceded in death by his mother Alice McInnis, Parents Hunter McInnis and Fannie McInnis, first wife of 33 years Linda McInnis and daughter Leigh Ann McInnis, Sister Barbara Dawson and husband David Dawson, Brother Jimmie Cassidy Sr., Sister Doris Davenport, Brother-In-Law John Johnson, Brother-In-Law Clayton Barnhill, and his beloved pet Baby Girl.

Sam is survived by his wife of 11 years Brenda K. McInnis. Daughter Vera Cohee and husband Charles Cohee, Son Dan Eubanks and wife Karyn Eubanks, Daughter Kristina Crawley and husband Michael Crawley. Six Grandchildren Daniel Cohee, Hannah Cohee, Breydan Eubanks, Travis Eubanks, Dianna Crawley and Destin Crawley. Brother-In-law Teddy Godbee and wife Jackie Godbee, Sister-In-Law: Ann Edge, Sister: Addie Faye Johnson, Sister Mary Pace and husband Butch Pace, Brother Jimmie McInnis and wife Debbie McInnis, Sister Patricia Henderson and husband David Henderson, Sister-In-Law Mary Cassidy, numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and his beloved pets Marshall and Metzger.

A memorial service will be disclosed after arrangements are finalized. Expressions of condolence may be offered at www.hughesfh.com. Arrangements are by Hughes Funeral Home of Daphne, AL.
