Jackie Geitzenauer

Jackie Geitzenauer Hertford - C Jacqueline Geitzenauer, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2025, in Virginia Beach, VA. She was born May 3, 1942, in Lewiston, ME, the daughter of Donat and Rolande Jalbert.

Jackie retired after 30 years with the City of Virginia Beach Finance Department. She was a Past High Priestess of Zulekia Court No. 35 of the Ladies' Oriental Shrine and a Past Royal Directress National President in the Royal Order of Jesterettes. She was also an avid quilter, lovingly creating and donating more than 50 quilts to family, friends, and Shriners Children's Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Geitzenauer; sister Irene Kimball (Dave); children, Michele Maurer (John) and Jeff Asselin (Margie); stepson, Tom Davis (Nan); six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Jalbert, and sister, Helene Knowles (Phillip).

A funeral Mass was held Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Elizabeth City, NC, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
