Conrad Howe Obituary

JONESBORO, Ark. – Conrad Lee Howe, 86, passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Ark.
Conrad was born Feb. 1, 1927, in Troy to the late Lee Roy Howe and Olive (Goffinet) Howe. He graduated from Troy High School in 1945. After high school he served in the U.S. Army. Following his service in the Army, he went to Purdue University and graduated in 1950 with a degree in electrical engineering.
Conrad married his high-school sweetheart, Doris Steen, in 1945 and they were married 66 years.
After graduation he worked for General Electric for 23 years. He began working in the plant in Tell City and was later transferred with his family to the Jonesboro plant in 1966. After his retirement from General Electric, he worked for Emerson Electric and retired from the plant in Paragould, Ark. as manager of technical services.
Surviving are his wife, Doris; daughters, Cynthia Ann Howe of Dallas, Texas; and Mrs. Connie Lee Harris (Dr. Barry) of Paragould, Ark.; grandchildren Dr. Emily Elizabeth Harris of Germantown, Tenn.; and Ryan Howe Harris of Little Rock, Ark; a sister, Hazel Fortwendel of Troy and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family offers special thanks to Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City, Ark., for the good care he was given the past five months.
Funeral services were set for 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct.31, at Heath Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Eddie Gene Wright and the Rev. Clyde Cook officiating.
Interment will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
