To the family of Sister Ida "little Ida" Sands - it's 10 years since your mother left this life for her eternal home; but today she is in my thoughts and you are in my prayers. If this messages finds it's way to the twins, Reginald, ReNardo or any member of the Sands/Randall family I'd welcome being in touch. Diana Chappell (cousin to Queenie Ballard)

God gave many gifts to the city called Portmouth, (VA) of them your voice. You used your gift well, then left behind a leagcy of music. I remember how broken my heart was when I heard that God had called you away; then I heard your voice saying "Anthony! We came from God", that's when I knew you were alright, and so was I. I thank Him for all that I learned through you, while working with you. Remember, how you taght, guided, and inspired all who came in your presence. Now its crystal clear: You were truely a gift from God.

You gave your all, to friends, family
and anyone that you encountered which is truly rare. I remember you bringing people home that didnt have a home and feeding and sheltering them. I didn't understand why at the time but came to know that was just your heart.Your wisdom and understanding was second to none!!!....I know that I was truly blessed to have had a Mom like you. Miss you much but never forgotten' ReNardo'

Sometimes I reach out for you....
and selfish me gets mad that you're gone.
Then I open my mouth to talk to people, and hear
the words you left me to carry on.....
I miss you so much mom.

Mrs. Randall I had the pleasure of taking care of you for quite some time. The conversation and laughs we had is something I'll always remember. No matter what kind of day I was having, I could always come to your room and de-stress. It was my pleasure to take care of you during your time of need <3

Mom,
I can't believe the experience I'm going through right now....
I know you're with me and inside of me because I hear you in my conscious so clearly.....
But still.... for the rest of my days here... I'm going to miss you so much!
I did the best I could.. and I will continue to do so.
This town will never forget your name. I promise you that.
Rest now mom....You did well.
See you when I get there.
I love you,
Edwin.

Ms. Ida Sands
I was introduced to you 1/20/13, by way of 1350 AM radio station. Your story really took my mind of wanting too know you personally. Your voice has a tone that I long to hear more of and the way you hit those notes, touched my heart. Such a Grand Lady to be missed- with a beautiful voice. My mother is where you have now gone and her spirit was with me that day,I know she will enjoy you. PEACE.

Do you know 'My Song ?
Not the one where he's coming back
or the one where she's leaving again.

But the one where a little girl from humble Means
had the Audacity to have big Dreams
She sang with a voice that commanded Respect
And had a heart of gold and that strong Intellect
Sailing on that Ark with Noah at hand
Singing and sharing her Voice all across this land
She fought for injustice and Marched in picked lines
Not caring about herself,as these were those Times
Giving all of herself til the bitter End
while being a Mother,a Daughter a Sister and a Friend
Yes the Holidays just passed but, I was wrong you see
It wasn't'Just A Sad Xmas cause you all ,were and 'Are' here with me'
My life,My Story,My Song.........IDA 'R ANDALL 'SANDS
