Janet Hatheway Obituary

Janet H. Hatheway VIRGINIA BEACH - Janet Horton Hatheway, 85, made her transition Nov. 3, 2010 surrounded by family. Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., she graduated from Packer Collegiate Institute, the Bouvé Boston School of Physical Education affiliated with Tufts University, and received her M.A. from Columbia University. She was a physical education teacher, homemaker, camp counselor, YWCA program director, and a licensed Unity teacher. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dean; daughters, Lynn LaCount and Diane Dannemann and her husband Kevin; and grandchildren, Ryan Dannemann and his wife Patty, Bridget Dannemann, Jonathan LaCount and Todd LaCount. The celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at Unity Renaissance Church, 1120 N. Eden Way, Chesapeake, VA 23320. Memorial donations to Unity Renaissance Church are suggested in lieu of flowers.

Janet welcomed our family to Unity over 20 years ago, and will always be remembered as a kind and patient teacher, a warm and very wise friend.
