Janette Woods Obituary
Virginia Beach - 83 - died peacefully on April 8, 2013 at home in Triangle, VA. with her family by her side. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 31, 1929, to the late Charles and Amelia Hamilton. She graduated from Maury High School in 1946, and began working for the Navy JAG in Norfolk, VA, where she met and married John L. Woods (USMC, Ret). Mrs. Woods accompanied her husband across the country before settling in Virginia Beach, where she resided for next 50 years. Mrs. Woods and her husband were also part-time residents of Sun City, AZ but moved to Triangle in 2009 to be closer to family.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John L. Woods, by her daughter Cynthia Erwin and her husband William; as well as two grandchildren, Dustin Luttrell, and Janette Luttrell Baxley; and one great-grandchild, Skylar R. Baxley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Amelia Hamilton; two brothers, Charles and Harry Hamilton; and two sisters, Emily Reed, and Mary Ann McClain. The family wishes to thank everyone at Evercare Hospice for the superb care given to her in her final year, making her passing so peaceful.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being held by Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, Dale City, Virginia.
