Joyce Ann Wendt
Chesapeake - Chesapeake - Formerly of Chesapeake, Joyce Ann Chick Wendt, 77, entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 6, 2013 while residing in The Villages, FL. Born in Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Ruth (Begor) Chick. Joyce was an offset operator for the Virginia Port Authority, Norfolk, VA. She retired in 1995 after 30 years of service. Joyce enjoyed shopping, reading, and simply adored her Toy Poodle, Mandy. She was most proud of her family and friends. She was of the Presbyterian faith and came with her husband Donald to The Villages from Virginia Beach, VA in 2005.
Joyce leaves her husband of 40 years, Donald L. Wendt; her children, Robert W. MacDonald and wife Lily of Riverview, FL, Susan J. Dyer and husband Mike of Cedarville, AR, Patricia V. Waterfield and husband John of Virginia Beach, VA, Linda A. King and husband Sam of Chesapeake, VA, Dianna F. Wendt of Chesapeake, VA, Tony Wendt and wife Wendy of Fox Lake, IL, and Lisa K. Hedgepath and husband Scott of Virginia Bach, VA; a sister, Diane G. Fisher of Concord, NC; a brother, Earl L. Chick and wife Heidi of Springfield, GA; twenty grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Rd in Virginia Beach. Entombment will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.altmeyer.com.
