Roberto Pangilinan Obituary


Roberto D. Pangilinan VIRGINIA BEACH - Roberto DeJesus Pangilinan, 63, went home to be with the Lord Aug. 19, 2008. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam and retired after 22 years of dedicated service. Roberto also worked for the Department of Defense in Cubi Point, Philippines, for three years as a G-12. He was a founding member of the Filipiniana of Virginia and served as an officer. Roberto's favorite hobbies were singing karaoke and being the disc jockey at parties. He was predeceased by his father, Jesus Pangilinan. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 38 years, Emerita Pangilinan; mother, Africa Pangilinan; three daughters, Tricia Anne Orpilla and husband Christian, Melanie Palma Pangilinan and Ellen Grace Pangilinan and fiance Shaun Amacio, all of Virginia Beach; son, Roberto "Jay-Ar" Ladrillono of the Philippines; four brothers, Jose, Jessie, Frank and Ely; and four sisters, Cresencia, Amelia, Marie and Lilibeth; three grandchildren, Christian, Desiree and Sebastian, all of Virginia Beach; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Holy Spirit Catholic Parish conducted by Father Tim Kuhneman. Burial will follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday and Friday at 6 to 8 p.m. in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. To celebrate the life of Roberto, please visit his everlasting memorial at www.mem.com.
