Hi Don, Joanne and your families. Your dad is now once again with your mom. Married all those years and always so very close to one another. They certainly did live their lives for their kids and grandkids while your mom was still here on earth. They lived their lives for all of you. I will never forget all the good times we had growing up, the picnics at Jubilee Park and all the fun we had out at dad's farm, as well as the many Christmas' shared traveling from house to house checking out everyone's gifts and eating all the good food, etc. I remember all the nights we kids spent together and all the fun we had. What can I say, I could go on and on with the memories. We came from a tight knit family and cared very deeply about one another. Things change over time and we all begin new lives but once you share that closeness, it never really goes away. Knowing that your dad is now with your mom again brings me comfort and I pray it brings all of Uncle Al's kids and grandkids great comfort, too. I loved your mom and your dad, too. OH yeah, and Roxie. Just had to love Roxie!! Without her we wouldn't have had the joy of knowing your dad now would we. Your dad is now with her, too. Remember Art and all the great gumballs! Talk about heaven on earth for a kid! My thoughts and prayers are with you all. What would we give his hand to clasp, his patient face to see. To hear his voice, to see his smile, as in the days that used to be. But some sweet day we'll meet again beyond the toil and strife. We will clasp each other's hand once more in heaven where we will share that happy life. Love from your cousin, Deb (Foster/Shafer)
