PEORIA - Doris Joslin Conrath, 83, of Peoria passed away Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, with her daughters by her side.
Doris was born May 26, 1923, in Salina, Kan., to Sarah Bean and Earl Joslin. She married Almon W. Conrath on Jan 23, 1944. He survives.
She also is survived by her daughters, Sue (Rick) Mullen of Peoria and Heidi (Brian) Decker of Georgetown, Texas.
Doris graduated from Kansas Wesleyan College in Salina.
She was a member of First Federated Church, where she was active in church affairs for over 35 years.
She served as Welcoming Chairman of Entre Nous.
Doris was a member of Mt. Hawley Country Club, where she was active in golf affairs, including raising funds for the Cancer Society through golf tournaments.
Doris enjoyed playing bridge, participating in book club and Bible studies.
A memorial service will be held at First Federated Church, 3601 N. Sheridan Road, Peoria, on Saturday, March 3 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Forrest Krummel will officiate. A social gathering will follow. Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
Doris will be cremated and buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C. as the spouse of a former Prisoner of War.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Federated Church.
