Edwin E. "Ed" "Bumps" Bube
LEWISTOWN - Edwin E. "Ed" "Bumps" Bube, 81, of Lewistown, formerly of Farmington, passed away at 1 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Farmington Country Manor.
He was born on July 29, 1936, in Glidden, WI, to Edwin G. and Eileen (Halberg) Bube. He married Jean Schneblin on February 16, 1957, at First Church of God in Peoria, IL, and she survives. They were married for 61 years.
Also surviving are two daughters, Nancy (Jeff) Stobaugh of Elmwood, IL, and Debra Kasadine of Branson, MO; five grandsons, Arthur Jene Long, Edwin Lauren (Courtney) Long, Branigan Franklin (Emily) Long, Joseph Edwin (Michelle) Brown and Wesley Edwin (Anna) Friedley; nine great-grandchildren, Macey Brown, Carter Brown, Breklin Long, Keian Long, Locklin Long, Lauren Long, Madilyn Long, Hadley Long and Violet Long; and one brother, Terry Bube of Farmington, IL.
Edwin was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Laura Bube, who passed away on March 7, 1981; and one brother, Eugene Bube, who passed away on May 10, 2017.
Ed worked at Caterpillar in Mossville, IL, for 30 ½ years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and woodworking. Ed was an avid fisherman. He loved to travel with his wife and spend the winters in Texas for several years. Ed enjoyed his family, particularly his three daughters, five grandsons, nine great-grandchildren and, finally, the wonderful people that married into the family.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington, IL, where a visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Chaplin John Sipf will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Oakridge Cemetery in Farmington, IL.
