Ethan E. Koch
CHILLICOTHE - Ethan Edward Koch, age 21, of Chillicothe passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020.
Ethan was born on January 3, 1999, in Peoria, IL, to Gary A. and Denise R. (Perry) Koch.
Surviving are his parents, Gary and Denise; his brothers, Shelby Koch of Phoenix, AZ, and Brody and Kaiden Koch, both of Chillicothe; his grandmother, Diane Koch of Chillicothe; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gary Perry and Mary Perry; and his great-grandmothers, Mildred Dunbar and Norma Kee.
Ethan worked for Beau's Tire and Auto in Chillicothe and enjoyed working on cars, riding his 4-wheeler and being outdoors. He loved hanging with his friends, and especially with his brothers.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lacon. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Gary and Denise, there are no words powerful enough to express and comfort you with the loss of Ethan. My heart is breaking for you.

My first meeting of Ethan, was a week and 1/2 before when he fixed my flat tire. While I watched him work, I noticed how very focused and meticulous he was on every detail of the process to fixing a flat tire. I have never seen anyone fix a flat tire like that before! It may be somewhat of a small thing to fix a flat tire; However, to Ethan, at that moment, to him, it was everything in getting it right. This I think will be etched into my mind forever because I was so amazed with his attention to details and no distractions. It is still very vivid and clear to me. I was, and still am, very impressed!

I just wanted to share the one and only memory I will ever have of Ethan with you. His actions and dedication says a lot about his character and the type of man he was growing into becoming. I am so sorry I will never have the chance to see him grow further into this wonderful young man you, Gary and Denise, were raising him to be. More importantly, is your loss of this also. I hope, even though it is never enough, that these words can give a little comfort and put a smile on your face in having one more memory of what someone else saw in your son that you can put in his "Book of Life".

May God Bless and Keep him safe and Bless and Comfort you and the rest of your family; Keeping Ethan very close in your hearts. He will be with you forever.

Although I did not know Ethan personally, I feel like I have known him for years. Diane and I are good friends and worked together for many years. We always ate lunch together, and Ethan was often the topic of our conversation. Diane always talked about what a great grandson he was and how he was always there to help her with her yard work. I know how much she loved him, and my heart breaks for her and family members. Keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers.

I only knew Ethan for about 5 years but I enjoy tinkering on anything with a motor just like him and he was a wizard on those old Chevy motors so I always called him up when I was stumped on something. Im so sorry you guys have to go through this and all of us want you to know we are here for you guys.
