Karen Soland Obituary
MACOMB - Karen McCrary Soland, 77, of Macomb, IL, passed away at 7:25 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2017.
She was born on September 26, 1939, in Chillicothe, MO, to Lewis and Genevieve (Cain) Anderson. She was married to Jim McCrary, and later married Larry Soland .
Surviving are three children, Wendy (Patti Heidorn) McCrary of Lake Worth, FL, Robin (Rick) Severs of Macomb, IL, and Michael (Robyn) McCrary of Springfield, OH; and four grandchildren, Grant and Nick Severs and Kelsey and Paige McCrary.
Her parents and her sister, Dana, preceded her in death.
Karen had a passion for playing cards of any kind. She had a particular love for duplicate bridge. So much so, that she achieved her ACBL Life Master ranking.
Karen was also a sports fanatic. If she wasn't watching a sport on TV, she was following her grandchildren as they played softball, wrestling, golf, basketball and football. She was so proud to brag about their latest achievements of any kind.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Karen's Life will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at the Macomb Country Club from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial of ashes will be held privately at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested you contribute in her honor to the Dolores Kator Switzer Women's Center, McDonough District Hospital, 505 E. Grant Street, Macomb, IL 61455.

It is never easy, mostly impossible, to find the right words when someone as close as your mother is called home. To you, Robyn, Paige, and Kelsey I merely want to say I am sorry for your loss and pray that everyone may find comfort in God's promises until that time when you are able to meet with her again.

I'm so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She had been a great help to my mom and I over the past several months. I will miss her terribly and so will my mom. They were great friends for so many years.
