I knew Lee at Central, and remember her with much love and affection. As with many friendships, we lost touch. I was stunned to see her grave just a few yards from my father's and mother's on the day we buried my mother. Lee, I will always regret not keeping track of you. Just know that I will hope and pray we can reconnect in the next life.

Lee was a very special person. She has always impressed me as being so caring about everyone she knew. She always was there to support others even when she was going through her medical issues. She was a true treasure and a good friend to all in our grade school class. My condolences go out to Don and her family.

I knew Lee in high school and she also did an internship at The Center for Prevention of Abuse with us a few years ago. It was great to see her during that time and I am so sad to see her go. She was a great person always thinking of others.
To the family, I am so sorry for your loss.

Lee was a great inspiration to all of us - definitely dealt a bad hand in terms of health troubles - more serious, cataclysmic illnesses than half a dozen people would suffer in three lifetimes. And yet through it all she remained upbeat and steered clear of self-pity. I'm sure she got down from time to time, but she didn't seem to dwell or wallow in it, and was a good friend to others. She was also a driving force in several of our Washington School reunions and the vector for many of us Class of 72-ers staying in touch with one another. I'm sorry for your loss, Dubs, and for members of Lee's family. I hope this finds you all well, and that we can feel at peace that Lee contributed a LOT, and that her suffering is done. She logged a lot more hours of discomfort than any of us, to my way of thinking. Thanks also other friends, for being a friend to Lee, and being able to share the joy of her living and sorrow at her passing. Take care. With love, John D..

Lee was an awesome, strong, optimistic, intelligent woman. She impressed me so much when we re-acquainted last year at a schoolmate's funeral. She was fiercely independent, but simultaneously candid about the strength that was afforded her through the support of her mother, Don, and other friends and family who stood by her while she worked her way through her illness and subsequent complications. My heart and prayers go out to those whom she touched on a daily basis. This loss is profound, and I hope you can be comforted in knowing that she was proud of you all, and selfless in her acknowledgement of what you meant to her.
Peace,
Maya Mahue, classmate from Washington Grade School
