Marion Heinz Obituary

PEORIA - Marion M. Heinz, 91, of Peoria passed away at 11:45 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at UnityPoint Health-Proctor.

Marion was born on Feb. 21, 1922, in Peoria to Henry G. and Mary J. (Grieshaber) Mammen. She married Robert A. Heinz on Jan. 2, 1941, in Peoria. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2010.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Chuck Heinz; and three sisters, Virginia McCann, Evelyn Greenway and Shirley Franz.

Marion is survived by two daughters, Joan (Jim) Fischer of Chillicothe and Sharon "Sherry" Heinz of Tucson, Ariz.; two granddaughters, Allecia Lynn Thibeault and Andrea Lynn Fischer; and one great-grandson, Caleb James Thibeault.

She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church for 60 years. She volunteered at the American Red Cross and the St. Thomas Martha & Mary Society.

Marion was a very social person who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. You could find her playing cards whenever she was not reminiscing about all the wonderful memories made over her 91 years. She was a dedicated wife and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her nearly 70-year marriage was filled with happiness and everlasting compliments between herself and her husband. She was caring and kind and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at St. Thomas Catholic Church. Msgr. William Watson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.

Memorials may be made to St. Thomas Catholic Church.
