HANNA CITY - Richard "Rick" Griffin, 52, of Hanna City died at 6:25 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, at his residence.
Born Aug. 20, 1954, in Peoria to William and Laura Frisa Griffin, he married Barbara Keeton on July 31, 1989, in Florence, Ala.
She survives, along with five children, Ricky (Angie) Twitty and Kathy Marmion, both of Peoria, Charles (Amy) Hodgkins of Dunlap, Anthony Griffin of Peoria and Matthew Griffin of Quantico, Va.; three sisters, Carolyn Vick of Edwards, Alysa Suits of Eureka and Peg Griffin of Peoria; and two brothers, Bill Griffin of Peoria and Alan Griffin of St. Paul, Minn. Ten grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rick worked in bridge maintenance for the State of Illinois for over 27 years until the time of his death.
He was a member of the NRA. Rick also loved the outdoors, camping, especially on the family farm near Kickapoo, and his dog, Missy.
A funeral service will be Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Wright and Salmon Mortuary, with Pastor Paul Maitland officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the mortuary. Cremation rites will follow with burial of cremains in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Kickapoo at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

My condolences to the family of Rick. I worked with Rick as the bridge inspector tech. under Bob and Mark. It was a pleasure to work with him. I will always consider him a great friend.
